Reduce Your Bin Size

Save money and help the environment by reducing the size of your Waste to Landfill Bin.

By choosing a smaller bin rather than the maximum 240 litre bin you can save on your annual waste levy. There is no changeover fee to reduce the size of your Waste to Landfill Bin.

Red Bin Size

If you are choosing to increase the size of your Waste to Landfill Bin a waste service changeover fee applies, as well as an increase to your annual waste levy. Click here for applicable Waste Collection Fees & Charges.

Only property owners can request a change to the size of their Waste to Landfill Bin. If you are not the owner, you will need to contact the managing agent or the owner to discuss a resize.

Before you can apply to resize your red bin, you need to log in or create an account in Wollongong City Council’s Online Services system.

Once you are logged in, select Lodge an Application, then Council Services and Resize Residual Waste Bin.

 Go to Council’s Online Services

If you do not have access to a computer please contact Wollongong City Council Customer Service on 02 4227 7111 and an agent would be pleased to assist with the lodgement of your resize request.
